2010 Ford Shelby GT500 Spy Shots

The 2010 Shelby GT500 was spotted on the streets of Detroit by KGP Photography. Although heavily camouflaged some key elements were visible that confirm this is indeed the 2010 Shelby tested on the public roads.

2004 Audi RSQ Concept

The futuristic film car Audi RSQ was presented to the public for the first time on April 7, 2004 at the New York International Automobile Show. Audi tackles its most ambitious product placement project ever: For the epic event motion picture „I, ROBOT“, Audi Design developed the spectacular vehicle, which helps leading actor Will Smith - a homicide detective in the year 2035 - solve a mystery that could have grave consequences for the human race.

With this project Audi opens up a new chapter in product placement. Previously, the brand with the four rings has always supplied volume-production cars to movie productions. In individual cases, such as “Mission: Impossible II,” these cars were even used in movies before their market launch. With „I, ROBOT“ and the systematic development of a “car of the future,” Audi goes far beyond its previous product placement activities.

Audi has been participating as an automobile partner in major movie productions for several years. In addition to John Frankenheimer’s action classic “Ronin” with Jean Reno and Robert de Niro (1998), the brand with the four rings played the automobile lead in “The Insider” (1999) featuring Academy Award Winner Russell Crowe, “Mission Impossible II” (starring Tom Cruise, 2000), “The Mothman Prophecies” (starring Richard Gere, 2002), “About a Boy” (starring Hugh Grant, 2002) and Reese Witherspoon’s “Legally Blonde 2“ (2003).

Maybach Exelero

The Maybach Exelero was unveiled in May 2005 at the Tempodrom in Berlin. Commissioned by tyre company Fulda, the Exelero is a chopped-down two-seater coupe, though it’s more than just a show car - in tests at the Nardo high-speed oval, the prototype reached a speed of 218.38mph, despite weighing over 2.66 tonnes. It is capable of acceleration from 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds.

Maybach says the car, built by Stola in Turin, is “a one-off vehicle created to showcase the new ultra-high performance Exelero tyre range from leading tyre manufacturer Fulda”; it’s not the first time the two companies have teamed up, as back in 1938 Fulda demonstrated its tyres on a Maybach SW 38 limousine. There are, however, “no plans to produce the model in series”, though it has been certified for on-road use.

That’s too bad, this would have made the ultimate luxury car out there, although Maybach pretty much holds that rank already.

Audi to make electric cars in the next 10 years

Audi top executive Rupert Stadler told Welt am Sonntag in an interview published on Sunday that he saw great opportunities in electric cars and expected diesel and battery technology to dominate in the coming five to ten years.“By then we will offer cars without exhaust emissions,” Stadler said.

Ford Mustang Giugiaro

Bringing European styling to this All-American icon, Italdesign has turned the Mustang into a refined and intimidating sports car. The stock Mustang is primarily an option for the general public; an extremely cool car, boostfull engine and great interior; so Giugario decided to change the styling and design of both the interior and the exterior to help the present day Mustang look more like a stallion and less like a pony.

The Giugiaro Mustang is powered by a the same 4.6L V8 from the Mustang GT, but it receives additional power from a twin-screw supercharger. The engine is also uniquely tuned by Italdesign and fitted with fuel injectors from the Ford GT. The engine is given more fresh air through an air intake with a 95 mm (3.7 in) larger mass air meter and a conical air filter. Exhaust flow is improved using an X-pipe and Ford Racing mufflers.

All these power improvements add up to the cars ability to produce over 500 hp at 11psi of boost from the supercharger.

Honda Remix

Honda Remix was first presented at the 2006 LA Auto Show. “Pure Honda to the core, the REMIX concept vehicle focuses on a simple, lightweight and fun-to-drive philosophy,” said John Mendel, senior vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “The concept balances sports car virtues with real-world practicality.”

The REMIX Small Sport Concept is a product of the Honda R&D Americas, Inc., Advanced Design Studio in Southern California. Purely a design concept, the vehicle is fashioned around a front-wheel drive small car platform with a 4-cylinder engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. A sport suspension, along with aggressive tires and brakes, further supplement its performance side.
